Lingayen Bypass Road to be Completed by 2027: Dizon

Lingayen: The 3.4-kilometer Lingayen Bypass Road in Lingayen town, Pangasinan is slated for completion in 2027, as stated by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon. The construction, which began in 2018, is currently 88 percent finished.

According to Philippines News Agency, DPWH data reveals that more than PHP2.6 billion of the PHP2.8 billion total project cost has been disbursed, leaving an unfunded amount of PHP261.4 million. Secretary Dizon, during his inspection visit to Pangasinan, addressed the remaining construction requirements, including two bridges and a connection to Dagupan, which faces minor right-of-way issues. An additional PHP100 million has been approved to resolve these issues and complete the connection.

The project encompasses two phases, with the first phase beginning at the intersection of Pangasinan-Zambales Road and Lingayen Labrador Diversion Road at Barangay Baay. It extends through Lingayen proper to Barangay Namolan. The second phase extends the bypass to Binmaley, spanning approximately 2.59 kilometers.

The DPWH briefer outlines the project scope, including the construction of a four-lane concrete road, drainage and slope protection, three overpass bridges, one underpass bridge, four permanent bridges, and road safety facilities. Upon completion, travel time between Barangay Baay and Barangay Biec in Binmaley will be significantly reduced from 22 minutes to seven minutes, benefiting 18,492 motorists.
