Laoag city: The Laoag city government has announced an extension for online business permit renewals, now allowing business owners until February 28, 2026, to complete the process. This decision follows the adoption of Resolution No. 13SP-2025-245 by the city council, providing additional time for compliance.
According to Philippines News Agency, Acting City Treasurer Loelyn Bajado stated on January 15 that out of the 6,100 registered businesses expected to renew their permits for 2025, a total of 1,328 licenses have already been issued. The extension aims to offer relief and flexibility to business owners, particularly those operating small and medium enterprises, while ensuring continued adherence to city regulations.
Bajado also reported that 1,422 applications are still awaiting verification, assessment, or payment. Moreover, 133 applicants have been declined due to insufficient documentation, while 816 are prepared for payment. The city's Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS) at the Laoag City Multi-Purpose Hall will continue operations from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to facilitate faster processing.
Business owners are encouraged to renew their permits before the new deadline to avoid any penalties and surcharges.
