Ilocos norte: The provincial government of Ilocos Norte is advancing its educational infrastructure by equipping nearly 400 schools with interactive smart televisions. The initiative involves the distribution of at least 111 smart TVs to both elementary and secondary schools within the province, as announced by a government official on Thursday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Maria Deleilah Felipe Adriatico reported that the initial phase of distribution took place at the Capitol session hall. The overall plan is to furnish 382 public schools with these digital tools, aiming to enhance the teaching and learning processes. Adriatico mentioned, "The other units are expected to arrive on March 28 and we hope to complete the distribution by then."
This initiative, funded with PHP74.6 million from the provincial government's Special Education Fund, is designed to outfit schools with modern technology. This approach is intended to create more engaging and interactive classroom experiences, which are essential for contemporary education.
Schools Division Superintendent Renato Balderas Jr. stated, "With these resources, our teachers are further empowered to deliver innovative instruction while our learners gain greater access to dynamic and technology-enabled education." The initiative emphasizes the importance of integrating technology into education to facilitate both teaching and learning.
Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos has urged teachers and students to maintain the equipment well to maximize its benefits for digital learning. In previous efforts, the provincial government has also distributed computers and books to foster modern classrooms and promote both reading and digital literacy among Ilocano learners, supporting the broader objective of uplifting public education in the region.
