Manila: The Insurance Commission (IC) has called on planholders of the now-defunct pre-need firm Danvil Plans Inc. to complete the necessary requirements to claim funds that remain uncollected. This appeal comes after the liquidation period concluded on March 6, 2026, yet a significant number of planholders have not claimed their funds.
According to Philippines News Agency, approximately 7,681 planholders still need to claim their checks despite the end of the liquidation period. Danvil Plans Inc. was placed under the conservatorship of the IC on October 14, 2010, before being ordered into liquidation on December 16, 2014.
In an official statement, IC Commissioner Reynaldo Regalado reported that the agency has already disbursed over PHP1.62 billion, covering around 17,274 claims. This includes 15 claims that were settled even after the liquidation period ended. Regalado emphasized that the settlement of these claims demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the Insurance Commission and the liquidator to safeguard the interests of placeholders and ensure they receive the benefits they are entitled to.
Commissioner Regalado urged all remaining claimants to engage with Danvil and fulfill the necessary documentation to facilitate the release of their claims.
