Manila: The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) on Tuesday said it is pursuing stronger reforms in fund management and service delivery following the appointment of three new members to its governing board. In a statement, the state pension fund said the inclusion of Gilbert Tan Sadsad, president of the Philippine Public School Teachers Association (PPSTA), and sectoral representatives Enrico Gregorio Molina Trinidad and Cenon Cruz Audencial Jr. from the banking, finance, investment, and infrastructure sectors would bolster its institutional reforms.
According to Philippines News Agency, ‘Their extensive experience will be invaluable as we build on the pension fund’s historic gains,’ the GSIS said. The GSIS said it is poised to strengthen transparency and efficiency in operations while keeping its focus on the financial security of 2.7 million government workers and pensioners.
‘Our mandate is clear: to provide responsive service and to prudently grow the fund our members have entrusted to us,’ the agency said.
