Manila: The weather bureau forecast a generally fair weather to prevail across the country on Tuesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Veronica Torres stated that most areas will experience warm and humid weather, along with partly cloudy to cloudy skies. "Isolated thunderstorms are less likely," she mentioned.
Torres reported that Super Typhoon Sinlaku, which is currently outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), was last tracked 2,455 kilometers off Southern Luzon. "It is far, and has a slim chance of entering the PAR," Torres explained, assuring that it would not affect any part of the country in the coming days.
The highest forecast temperatures are expected to reach 37°C in Tuguegarao, and 34°C in Metro Manila, Davao, and Zamboanga. Torres also highlighted that the heat index, which is the temperature felt by the human body when relative humidity combines with actual air temperature, could peak at 46°C in Cotabato City, Maguindanao. In parts of Metro Manila, the heat index might reach 37°C to 38°C.
"Avoid going outdoors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. When going out, bring an umbrella, water, and wear light-colored clothes," she advised. Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail across the archipelago, as stated by PAGASA.
