Fair Weather and Isolated Rains Expected Across the Philippines

Manila: Much of the country can expect generally fair weather on Tuesday, with isolated rain showers due to the prevailing easterlies, the weather bureau said Tuesday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) indicated that while the weather will be mostly fair, the easterlies will lead to cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms.

According to Philippines News Agency, the easterlies could bring moderate to heavy rains, which might result in flash floods or landslides in some areas. Specific regions such as Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon are expected to experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to these easterlies.

PAGASA forecaster Obet Badrina noted that the rest of the country will primarily have fair weather, though isolated rain showers remain a possibility because of localized thunderstorms. He also mentioned that Tropical Storm Fengshen, previously know
n as Ramil, no longer has any impact on the country.

In terms of maritime conditions, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are likely to prevail over extreme northern Luzon. In other regions, winds will be light to moderate, with seas expected to be slight to moderate, as per PAGASA’s forecast.
