EDSA Busway Achieves Record-Breaking Ridership of 66.7 Million Passengers in 2025

Manila: A record 66,669,287 passengers rode the EDSA Busway in 2025, marking a significant increase in ridership compared to 2024, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

According to Philippine News Agency, the impressive ridership figures were achieved through President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to enhance the EDSA Busway corridor, ensuring a safer, more accessible, and convenient travel experience for commuters. The 2025 ridership marks a 5.89 percent rise from the previous year's total of 63,022,953 passengers.

In December 2025 alone, the EDSA Busway experienced a record monthly ridership of 6,530,415 passengers, with a single-day peak of 321,186 passengers recorded in April.

Acting DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez emphasized the agency's commitment to modernizing the EDSA Busway for commuter benefit. "Marami pa tayong improvements na gagawin, tulad na lang ng mas modernong Kamuning Busway station, at tatlo pang bagong istasyon ng busway ngayong 2026 (We have more improvements planned, such as the new modern Kamuning Busway Station, and three more new stations this 2026)," Lopez said.

Since its inception in June 2020, the EDSA Busway has served a cumulative total of 341,307,843 passengers.
