Edoc Takes Lead in JPGT Pradera Verde with Strong Performance

Lubao: Zianbeau Edoc fired a one-under 71 behind back-to-back birdies to lead the boys’ 11-14 division of the ICTSI Pradera Verde Junior PGT Championship in Lubao, Pampanga Tuesday. Race Manhit carded a 74 to fall into a tie for second with Jacob Casuga and Vito Sarines.

According to Philippines News Agency, Edoc, a 13-year-old golfer, expressed that he wasn’t doing anything extraordinary and credited his late birdies to luck. He is currently aiming to qualify for the North vs. South Elite Junior Finals scheduled for October 7 to 10 at The Country Club in Laguna. Ranked No. 7, Edoc is in the race for a Top 4 spot after earning 15 points from a title victory at Riviera during his JPGT debut two weeks ago. Sarines, Casuga, and Manhit are ranked second to fourth behind frontrunner Ryuji Suzuki.

Edoc plans to adopt a more aggressive approach on the greens in Wednesday’s final round. He observed that the greens are not particularly fast and intends to attempt every putt the following day, aiming to secure a back-to-back title and stay in finals contention in the series organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ 11-14 division, Sarines twins Mona and Lisa continue to dominate. Mona fired a 71 while Lisa carded a 72, maintaining the top two positions and securing their seats in the finals. Ranked third, Kendra Garingalao shot a 78, followed by Alexie Gabi with a 79, Marqaela Dy with an 81, and Eliana Dumalaog with an 85.
