Ilog:Negros Occidental The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has inaugurated a new satellite office in the Negros Island Region, aiming to enhance access to social protection services throughout the area.
According to Philippines News Agency, Secretary Rex Gatchalian, alongside Mayor Paul Alvarez and 6th District Representative Mercedes Alvarez, led the opening ceremony of the fourth social welfare and development (SWAD) facility in Ilog, Negros Occidental on Wednesday.
The DSWD-NIR stated that the new SWAD satellite office will improve the agency's outreach by providing programs and services directly in the community, reducing the need for clients to travel long distances for assistance.
This new facility in Ilog follows the recent opening on September 4 of the third SWAD satellite office in Sagay City, which serves northern Negros Occidental's communities. The other offices are located in Isabela and Bayawan City, Negros Occidental.
The DSWD-NIR plans to continue expanding its network by opening more satellite offices across the region, further promoting a client-centered approach to social protection.
