DSWD-Caraga Dispatches 20,000 Food Packs to Earthquake-Impacted Region 12

Caraga: The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Caraga Region (DSWD-13) has dispatched approximately 20,000 boxes of family food packs (FFPs) to families affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Region 12, the agency announced.

According to Philippines News Agency, part of the relief supplies originated from the Mindanao Disaster Resource Center (MDRC). The ongoing delivery to the affected areas aims to ensure the availability of additional humanitarian supplies and bolster current relief efforts.

In addition to the FFPs, DSWD-13 and MDRC have provided 380 water filtration kits, 289 family clothing kits, 450 sleeping bags, and 87 family tents to support those impacted by the disaster. Preparations and loading operations are currently underway to facilitate further augmentation support for immediate deployment in the affected areas.

These operations are in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive for a reinforced and prompt governmental response during emergencies and calamities. To further aid the relief operations, DSWD-13 also sent two Mobile Storage Units to Region 12 on Monday. These units aim to support the organized storage, management, and rapid distribution of relief goods.
