DSWD Allocates P8 Million for Community Projects in Tudela

Tudela: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Northern Mindanao has allocated PHP8 million for its Community-Driven Development (CDD) program in Tudela, Misamis Occidental, this year. This funding is part of DSWD-10’s Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) program and aims to benefit 25 barangays in the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mayor Samuel Parojinog emphasized the significance of the program, describing it as having a small budget but yielding numerous outputs. He noted that the projects would be managed by a Municipal Coordinating Team and implemented by the barangays using the CDD approach.

The municipal government has also committed resources, contributing PHP955,000 in cash and PHP3.9 million in kind. Since 2015, the Kalahi-CIDSS initiative has successfully delivered 121 subprojects in Tudela, focusing on addressing gaps in basic infrastructure and development needs, particularly in Indigenous communities.
