Davao: The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Caraga Region (DSWD-13) dispatched two Mobile Storage Units (MSUs) to Davao Region to support relief operations for communities affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake on Monday. "The MSUs will serve as a temporary warehouse during emergencies and ensure the organized storage, management, and rapid distribution of relief goods," DSWD-13 said in a statement.
According to Philippines News Agency, the deployment of these units is aimed at strengthening the region's disaster response capacity and supporting ongoing humanitarian efforts on the ground. The magnitude 7.8 tremor jolted most parts of Mindanao past 7 a.m. on Monday, with its epicenter off the coast of General Santos City.
Davao Region is among the affected areas, aside from parts of Region 12 where the epicenter was recorded.
