Davao: The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Davao Region (DSWD-11) disbursed over PHP5.23 billion in 2025 under Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) and Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).

According to Philippines News Agency, the agency reported that the AKAP fund disbursed reached PHP1.33 billion, and PHP3.89 billion was distributed from the AICS fund. The report, released on Friday, highlighted that the AICS was provided to individuals and families in crisis, while the AKAP was given to minimum-wage earners.

For AKAP assistance, 43.09 percent was allocated to food, 42.54 percent to medical aid, 13.66 percent to funeral services, and 0.71 percent to cash relief. For AICS, 70.79 percent went to food assistance, 21.94 percent to medical support, 6.89 percent to funeral assistance, and 0.15 percent to other forms of aid.

DSWD-11 assures that its efforts will continue to strengthen services, expedite assistance delivery, and bring programs closer to citizens most in need. AICS primarily provides medical assistance, burial, transportation, education, food or financial assistance, or other support services or needs for a person or family. AKAP, on the other hand, is designed to help minimum-wage and low-income earners.
