Drug-Bust Recovers P2.3-Million Suspected Shabu in Antique

Manila: Operatives arrested a high-value individual from this province following a buy-bust operation that led to the recovery of PHP2.3 million worth of suspected shabu on Wednesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, San Jose de Buenavista Chief of Police Major Geremy Ian Magbanua, in an interview on Thursday, identified the suspect as alias Mokie, 38 years old, and a resident of Barangay Funda-Dalipe. "Alias Mokie is being considered a high-value individual (HVI) because he deals with big transactions," Magbanua said.

The operation, jointly launched by the San Jose MPS, Antique Provincial Police Office, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, seized 340 grams of the suspected drugs and recovered the rented vehicle being used by the suspect. The successful operation was launched after surveillance for about five to six months. The suspect sourced his supply from a supplier in Iloilo.

Last week, the police station also confiscated PHP1.3 million worth of shabu from an HVI and street-level individual (SLI) in a resto-bar. "We call on other drug pushers to already stop their illegal activities because the police will really run after them," Magbanua said.
