Metro manila: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has commenced road repairs across several locations in Metro Manila, strategically utilizing the Lenten break for these activities.

According to Philippines News Agency, the DPWH-National Capital Region (NCR) announced that repairs are underway in locations such as Las Pi±as, Muntinlupa, Manila, Pasig, Valenzuela, and Quezon City. The roadwork, which started on March 30, is planned to continue until April 6, 2026.

The rehabilitation efforts will involve asphalt overlaying, sidewalk improvements, expansion joint repairs, painting of concrete railings, waterproofing, and the construction of bridge and link slabs. These measures aim to enhance road safety for motorists.

Specific areas under construction include EDSA Southbound (Magallanes Flyover) and EDSA (Orense to Buendia) in Makati City, Rosario Bridge along Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City, and MacArthur Highway in Karuhatan, Valenzuela. In Quezon City, repairs will take place on E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue (from Mariable Bridge to G. Araneta Avenue) and along G. Araneta Avenue at various points, including the San Juan Bridge and Lambingan Bridge.

Additional construction sites include Almirante Creek in Las Pi±as City and the Alabang-Muntinlupa Road in Muntinlupa City. The DPWH has advised the public to observe traffic signs and on-site advisories to facilitate smoother traffic flow.

The department noted that temporary partial closures will occur in the affected areas, and motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes. Traffic in Metro Manila is anticipated to be lighter during this period as many residents travel to their provinces for Holy Week.
