Batangas: The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is inviting schools to participate in the “inno.venta” expo from Oct. 23 to 25 at the Batangas State University. The expo means “innovation” and “benta” (sell), according to DOST Assistant Secretary Napoleon Juanillo, Jr.
According to Philippines News Agency, Juanillo explained that state universities and colleges, private higher education institutions, and even the Philippine Science High School, may have produced innovations that could be sold or showcased to capitalists, investors, or potential partners. The expo aims to help researchers market their inventions.
Juanillo emphasized that research products should not remain unused in laboratories and libraries. He mentioned that products related to electronics, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, climate resilience, environment, mineral and mining processing, education, learning management systems, agri-tech, and food processing will be displayed. Additionally, items related to renewable energy, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence will also be featured.
Researchers are encouraged by Juanillo to seek assistance from the DOST regarding intellectual property protection. The DOST will also present some of its own products and solutions during the expo, which is expected to serve as a learning opportunity.
