DOF Chief Go Joins Monetary Board

Manila: Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli Remolona Jr. on Thursday welcomed Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Frederick Go as a member of the Monetary Board (MB).

According to Philippines News Agency, Go serves as the Cabinet Representative to the MB, the central bank's highest policy-making body chaired by the BSP Governor. This appointment followed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s decision to appoint Go as DOF chief in November 2025, replacing Ralph Recto, who has assumed the role of Executive Secretary.

Go expressed his honor in joining the MB and extended gratitude to President Marcos for his trust and confidence. "I will pursue the strategic alignment of fiscal and monetary policies in support of the Board's mandate to maintain price stability and safeguard our financial system. I look forward to working with my fellow Monetary Board members in building an economy that is resilient, robust, and inclusive to every Filipino," he stated.

The other members of the Monetary Board include Benjamin Diokno, Romeo Bernardo, Rosalia De Leon, Jose Querubin, and Walter Wassmer.
