Loreto: The municipality of Loreto in Dinagat Islands received 570 sacks of rice on Friday from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and Senator Win Gatchalian as part of national food assistance. The provincial government facilitated the delivery of this aid, comprising 370 sacks from the OCD and 200 from Senator Gatchalian, according to a statement by the Loreto local government.

According to Philippines News Agency, Atty. Niel Edward Demerey, representing Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. during the turnover, stated, "This is part of the 1,000-sack NFA rice assistance for the Dinagat Islands from the OCD." He further mentioned that the distribution of the remaining sacks to other towns in the province would continue in the coming week.

The local government unit of Loreto expressed gratitude towards the provincial government, OCD, and Senator Gatchalian, highlighting that the aid is sufficient to benefit all families in the municipality.
