DILG Implements Evidence-Based Profiling System in Northern Mindanao

Manila: The Department of the Interior and Local Government in Northern Mindanao: has initiated a new profiling system aimed at enhancing support and interventions for local government units (LGUs) across the region. The rollout took place during an orientation session for field officers from various LGUs in the area, organized under the Local Governance Performance Management System (LGPMS) by the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division.

According to Philippines News Agency, Pablo Benitez, the Officer-in-Charge of DILG-10, emphasized the significance of the LGPMS as an evidence-based policy development tool. This system is designed to assist LGUs in prioritizing their program implementations, with collaborative support from other government agencies. Benitez highlighted the importance of the profiling process not only for updating baseline data and governance information but also for advancing evidence-based policy development and meeting institutional commitments.

The orientation session provided a comprehensive overview of the rationale, timeline, and expected outcomes of the 2025 profiling. Participants were briefed on office roles and the profiling tools, ensuring a shared understanding of the process. The LGPMS serves as a comprehensive online national database for local governments, offering valuable information for policy and program development at both regional and national levels.
