Manila: The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) announced on Tuesday that residents of the Caraga Region who want to connect with family members abroad, particularly in the Middle East, may visit four designated Digital Transformation Centers (DTCs) in the area. The announcement came amid escalating tensions in the Middle East after the United States and Israel attacked Iran over the weekend. 'These DTCs are open with free services and equipment,' DICT 13 (Caraga) said in a statement.
According to Philippines News Agency, the centers are located at the DICT-13 office in Butuan City and at provincial offices in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, and Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. Another center is open in the Dinagat Islands at the agency's office on the municipal grounds in Cagdianao town. Services at each center include free Internet access, video messaging tools, and computers. 'Personnel and staff are also designated to provide technical assistance,' DICT-13 said.
