DA Implements Appointment System for P20 Rice at Quezon City BAI

Quezon city: The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Monday officially rolled out an appointment system for the sale of PHP20 per kilo of rice at the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) in Quezon City. DA Assistant Secretary Genevieve Guevarra said the new system aims to streamline operations and eliminate long queues.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Food Terminal Inc. (FTI), a government-owned and controlled corporation under the DA, explained that while a limited number of walk-in buyers will still be accommodated, the majority will be given specific schedules. Qualified beneficiaries may register for a slot through the official online link: https://bit.ly/P20BAI. Sales are conducted from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The PHP20 rice program is specifically open to priority groups including senior citizens, persons with disability, solo parents, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries, Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture-registered farmers and fisherfolk, and public utility vehicle drivers. The government continues to appeal for public cooperation to ensure the orderly, swift, and fair distribution of affordable rice to those who need it most.
