Manila: Europe is emerging as a new labor frontier for Filipino workers, with Croatia leading the way, through a government-to-government (G2G) hiring program, in partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). This initiative marks a significant step in expanding safe overseas employment opportunities for Filipinos in Europe.
According to Philippines News Agency, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac emphasized that this development is a direct result of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to create dignified and secure opportunities for Filipinos abroad. Cacdac highlighted the importance of a clear agreement between the governments of the Philippines and Croatia, ensuring protection, support, and respect for Filipino workers.
The DMW has announced that Croatia is offering 435 job positions under direct government supervision. The recruitment focuses on the hospitality and food service sectors, specifically for 255 room attendants, 110 waiters, and 70 cooks. Successful candidates will earn gross monthly salaries ranging from 976.99 to 1,079.24 euros, approximately PHP62,500 to PHP69,000.
Applicants must be Filipino citizens, aged 18 and above, at least high school graduates, possess a TESDA National Certification (NC) II in the relevant field, and be fit for overseas employment. While prior work experience is not required, proficiency in the English language is necessary.
Interested individuals must register online and secure an appointment through the DMW Portal and submit their documents personally at the DMW Central Office in Ortigas or any DMW Regional Office. Courier submissions will not be accepted, and only complete documents will be processed.
The deadline for application submissions is September 24, with interviews for pre-qualified applicants scheduled for October 15 at the DMW head office in Mandaluyong City. The DMW emphasizes that only complete applications will be accepted, and transfers between DMW offices are not permitted. The list of pre-qualified applicants for interviews will be posted by the DMW, and all job seekers are urged to remain cautious and vigilant against illegal recruiters.
