Comelec Records Nearly 800,000 Poll Registrants Since October

Manila: Close to 800,000 voter registration applications have been processed in connection with the November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) since the enlistment resumed in October. Based on data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the running total of applications received across the country is 768,263 from October 20 to November 30.

According to Philippines News Agency, of the total number of applications, 600,275 are for the village polls, while 167,988 are for the SK elections. Among the applicants, 211,197 are new registrants or those aged 18 years and above. Additionally, 227,115 individuals have applied for a transfer from another city or municipality, 47,886 have applied for a transfer within the same city or municipality, and 31,375 have submitted applications for reactivation.

For SK voters, aged 15 to 17 years, the poll body received 164,233 applications for new registration. There were also 845 applications for transfer from another city or municipality, 224 for transfer within the same city or municipality, and 2,686 corrections of entries received.

The voter registration period will continue until May 18, 2026. Earlier, Comelec announced its aim to enlist 1.4 million individuals throughout the entire registration period.
