Comelec Antique Urges Voter Registration for 2026 Barangay and SK Polls

Caloocan: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in the capital town of Antique is actively encouraging residents to participate in the voter registration process for the upcoming 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (BSKE) elections, which resumed on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, San Jose de Buenavista Municipal Election Officer III, Lawyer Johnna Catilo, emphasized the importance of early registration in an interview on Wednesday. Catilo urged potential voters to visit the office at the San Jose de Buenavista Municipal Hall with the necessary documents, including a government-issued identification card and photocopies of birth and marriage certificates, if applicable.

The Municipal Comelec Office is not only facilitating local registrations but is also offering the Register Anywhere Program (RAP). This initiative allows individuals from other areas, such as Caluya, to register in San Jose de Buenavista instead of traveling back to their home municipalities for registration.

Catilo also announced that a satellite registration would take place at Robinsons Place from January 21 to 29. Additionally, satellite registrations will be organized in various barangays of San Jose de Buenavista. A meeting with the barangay captains is scheduled for January 23 to finalize the registration schedule.

The collaboration with barangay captains aims to effectively inform constituents about the satellite registration opportunities. Furthermore, the Comelec Election Registration Board (ERB) is set to convene on January 19 to review the applications of 276 prospective voters who applied between October 20 and December 30, 2025.
