Comelec Announces Resumption of Voter Registration on April 7

Manila: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that voter registration activities across the nation will resume on Tuesday. The Comelec made this announcement via a social media post, reminding the public that all Comelec offices will reopen starting April 7, 2026. The offices were previously closed on Holy Thursday and Good Friday in observance of Holy Week.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Comelec has implemented a work-from-home scheme every Monday. This initiative supports the government's implementation of a four-day workweek as part of energy conservation measures. The poll body reported that as of March 31, 2026, it has processed over 3.7 million applications. Specifically, since the voter registration period began on October 20, 2025, a total of 3,697,800 applications have been processed.

Region 4-A (Calabarzon) continues to lead with the highest number of applicants, totaling 610,859. Among these, female applicants make up 318,155, while male applicants account for 292,704. Central Luzon follows with 417,603 applications, consisting of 215,767 females and 201,836 males. The National Capital Region has 372,503 applications, with females numbering 199,221 and males 173,282. The region with the least registrants is the Cordillera Administrative Region, recording only 50,465 applications, with 26,568 females and 23,897 males.

The nationwide voter registration is set to conclude on May 18.
