Manila: The Office of the Vice President (OVP) provided relief aid to flood-affected families in Antipolo City and Taytay, Rizal on Friday following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Enteng in the country. ‘Through the OVP’s Disaster Operations Center (DOC), close to 600 families were given assistance during the agency’s simultaneous relief operations along different evacuation centers,’ the OVP said in a news release. Legazpi: The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Bicol (DSWD-5) continues to distribute family food packs and non-food items to families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Enteng in different provinces of the region. Manila: Urbanization remains the main culprit in the recent flooding in Metro Manila amid the continued rains caused by Severe Tropical Storm Enteng and the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” according to an official of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. In a press briefing in Quezon City on Thursday, DENR Undersecretary Carlos Primo David attributed the massive flooding in Metro Manila to the vast urbanized areas.
