FAMA Allocates RM10 Million For Upgrading Of Pasar Tamu In Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) has allocated RM10 million for the development and upgrading of 41Tamu Markets in Sabah this year. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup said of the amount, RM7.6 million has been spent for the upgrade of 38 Tamu Markets. The upgrading work is in progress and is expected to be completed this year, he said in a statement today. KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty foreign nationals, including two children were detained by the police under Op Pintas Wakanda at a condominium in and around Jalan Ampang, today. Bukit Aman Crime Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said during the 10.30am operation, the 20 foreigners, aged between two and 40, comprised Nationals from Nigeria (14), Uganda(2), Tanzania (3) and Maldives (1). No Automatic Replacement Holiday On Sept 17

KUALA LUMPUR: There will be no automatic replacement public holiday on Sept 17 for the overlap between Malaysia Day and Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (Maulidur Rasul) on Sept 16, according to the Prime Minister’s Department. An announcement on the Cabinet, Constitution, and Intergovernmental Relations Division website stated that the Holidays Act 1951 (Act 369) does not provide for an automatic replacement holiday for public holidays that overlap or fall on the same working day. ‘However, the government may designate another day as a public holiday if necessary,’ according to the announcement.
