Bulacan: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to file another case before the Office of the Ombudsman against several personalities, including a "big fish," in connection with the flood control controversy. Secretary Vince Dizon refused to name the respondents but confirmed that the case would be filed on Thursday in Bulacan.
According to Philippines News Agency, Dizon mentioned in an interview during the inspection of the Matalahib creek pumping station in Quezon City that more cases are forthcoming. He urged the public to wait and see who the "big fish" is when the case is filed. The inspection revealed ongoing rehabilitation and flood management efforts at the creek, which were part of the drainage master plan submitted by the Quezon City government.
Dizon noted that residents in the area have reported improvements following months of continuous flood mitigation work. He stated that while flooding has not been entirely eliminated, the severity has decreased, and water levels recede more quickly than before. This aligns with the government's objective to minimize the impact of flooding.
He emphasized the commitment to ongoing rehabilitation efforts, reiterating the President's directive to continue these initiatives without pause.
