Roxas city: A lone bettor from the province of Capiz became an instant multimillionaire after hitting Wednesday night's PHP15 million Megalotto 6/45 jackpot.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced that the winning ticket was purchased in Roxas City. The lucky individual correctly guessed the winning combination of 17-24-15-29-10-05. The winner has the opportunity to claim the PHP15 million prize at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City within one year.
Under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, any lotto winnings exceeding PHP10,000 are subject to a 20 percent tax. Alongside the main winner, 99 other bettors each won PHP12,121.21 for correctly guessing five out of the six winning digits. Additionally, 2,770 participants will receive PHP397.11 each for getting four correct digits, and 30,579 will settle for PHP30 each for matching three correct digits.
The Megalotto 6/45 is drawn thrice a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles encouraged the public to continue supporting the agency's gaming products, emphasizing that they help generate additional revenues for health initiatives, medical services, and other national charities. Through its mandatory contributions, the PCSO aids not only individuals needing medical assistance but also provides essential funds to government institutions.
