Central luzon: Authorities in Central Luzon intensified their coordinated crackdown on public safety threats as law enforcement committees convened Monday to assess inter-agency operations and plan further actions.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Regional Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee-Region 3 (RLECC-3) and the Joint Anti-Bank Robbery and Cybercrime Coordinating Committee-Region 3 (JABRACCC-3) met at the PRO3 Multi-Purpose Hall to review accomplishments, including the accounting and destruction of confiscated modified mufflers and the consolidation of recovered loose firearms.
Data presented showed that from June 19, 2025, to February 22, 2026, a total of 5,227 confiscated illegal mufflers were destroyed. An additional 3,005 illegal mufflers were presented for destruction during the meeting.
Officials also reported that more than 4,000 loose firearms seized through police and joint operations are now securely accounted for, removing significant threats to community safety.
PRO-3 chief Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Pe±ones Jr. underscored that the accomplishments demonstrate the effectiveness of synchronized governance and shared accountability. "These results show what we can achieve through a whole-of-government approach. This is not the effort of the PNP alone. Through the strong partnership within RLECC-3, JABRACCC-3, and our allied agencies, we continue to deliver concrete actions that protect our communities," Pe±ones said in a statement Monday.
He noted that the initiatives align with the Philippine National Police's Focused Agenda and PRO-3's strategic direction known as the "3Ps" - Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism.
