Para±aque city: National University Nazareth School (NUNS) triumphed over Far Eastern University-Diliman with a score of 21-18, securing the final semifinal berth in the Under-19 division of the UAAP Season 88 3x3 boys' basketball tournament held at Ayala Malls Manila Bay on Saturday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Miekho Natinga led the Bullpups with 10 points, while Siane Bouzina contributed seven, setting up a clash with the top-seeded University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tiger Cubs scheduled for 11:40 a.m. on Sunday. UST, demonstrating their dominance, completed a flawless seven-game sweep of the elimination round with a 21-16 victory over the University of the Philippines.
The other semifinal showdown features Far Eastern University-Diliman (FEU-D) against De La Salle-Zobel (DLSZ). In the U-16 category, DLSZ ousted Adamson University 19-15, and University of the East (UE) overpowered NUNS 21-12 to claim the last two semifinal slots. UE is set to face No. 1 seed FEU-D at 11 a.m., while DLSZ will compete against defending champion Ateneo at 11:20 a.m.
In the girls' division, NUNS ended the elimination round by defeating defending champion UST 19-10 in a no-bearing contest. The Lady Bullpups and Junior Tigresses will vie for the title at 3:40 p.m., while the Junior Lady Archers will face the Blue Eagles in the third-place match at 1:40 p.m.
