BOSS Initiative Launches in Surigao Norte and Caraga to Streamline Business Processes

Caloocan: The Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) is set to be held in 21 towns and one city in Surigao del Norte, including Siargao Island. The initiative, which begins this week, will run until January 30.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Department of Trade and Industry in Surigao del Norte (DTI-SDN) announced that BOSS is a government initiative designed to consolidate key local and national line agencies into a single venue to simplify business permitting and licensing processes. This initiative supports the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.

Surigao City, along with the towns of Alegria, Claver, Mainit, General Luna, Malimono, Socorro, Tubod, and Placer, launched their one-stop shops last Monday, with operations continuing until the 20th to 30th of this month. Other towns are scheduled to roll out BOSS starting next week and will continue until the end of January.

Business owners, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) operators, as well as entrepreneurs, are urged to visit their respective municipal halls on the designated dates with the necessary documents to ensure efficient processing. Participating government agencies include the Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Internal Revenue, DTI, and other offices involved in business registration, compliance, and regulation.

Meanwhile, in Butuan City, the City Business Permits and Licensing Department (CBPLD) commenced its BOSS operations on January 2, which will continue until January 31. The operations at Robinsons Mall run Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Following the BOSS operations, business permit processing will continue from February 1 to April 30.
