BOC to Auction 13 Luxury Cars on Nov. 15: Vehicles Deemed Safe for Use

Manila: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has announced that 13 luxury vehicles, previously owned by contractor couple Pacifico ‘Curlee’ II and Cezarah ‘Sarah’ Discaya, will be auctioned on November 15. The BOC has assured potential buyers that the vehicles are safe for use.

According to Philippines News Agency, Assistant Commissioner Vincent Philip Maronilla confirmed that the high-end cars were illegally imported but are now available for auction. He emphasized that successful bidders would receive certification confirming the legitimacy of their purchase, ensuring they can use the cars without legal issues.

Maronilla mentioned that the government anticipates earning between PHP100 million to PHP200 million from the auction if all vehicles are sold. The list of luxury vehicles includes a Toyota Tundra, Toyota Sequoia, Mercedes Benz AMG SUV, Mercedes-Benz G 500, Lincoln Navigator 2021, Bentley Bentayga, Lincoln Navigator 2024, GMC Yukon Denali, Cadillac Escalade 2021, Maserati Levante Modena, another GMC Yukon Denali, Cadillac Escalade ESV, and a Rolls Royce Cullinan.

The BOC official expressed hope that the auction would attract interested buyers, with proceeds going towards financing government priority projects. The vehicles were forfeited to the government after the Discayas failed to provide satisfactory proof of legal importation.
