BOC Achieves Record Q1 Revenue Collection of PHP239 Billion

Manila: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) recorded its highest first-quarter revenue collection in history, generating PHP239.05 billion in the first three months of 2026. The bureau's strong performance places the first quarter of 2026 among its top-performing periods, surpassed only by the July to September collections in 2025.

According to Philippines News Agency, based on preliminary figures, the BOC exceeded its January to March 2026 target of PHP236.060 billion by PHP2.99 billion, or 1.3 percent above target, while collections also grew by PHP7.68 billion, or 3.3 percent higher compared to the same period in 2025.

Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno stated, "Our highest first-quarter collection of PHP239.054 billion, with a surplus of PHP2.994 billion shows that integrity, accountability, and modernization are not barriers to performance-they are the very reasons we are achieving it."

The BOC attributed its strong performance to the collective efforts of its ports and subports nationwide. Among the key contributors to the first-quarter gains include the public auctions of forfeited goods, particularly smuggled high-end vehicles that convert illegal assets into public revenue, as well as strengthened post-clearance audit operations.
