Legazpi: Police seized PHP191.7 million worth of illegal drugs across six provinces in the Bicol Region during anti-drug operations throughout 2025, according to the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5).
According to Philippines News Agency, a report released by PRO-5 Acting Regional Director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda detailed that police conducted 1,414 anti-illegal drug operations across the region from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025. These operations led to the arrest of 1,542 suspects linked to the illegal drug trade, including 158 high-value targets and 1,384 street-level suspects.
Authorities confiscated 81,919.4890 grams of marijuana and 26,747.9885 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP191,717,860.48. Miranda stated that the seizures resulted from sustained intelligence-driven operations and coordination with local communities, while adhering to accountability and human rights standards.
'These accomplishments demonstrate that the PNP remains resolute in dismantling illegal drug networks-from high-value syndicates down to street-level pushers. This also aligns with the focused agenda of our Chief PNP, Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C Nartatez, Jr., under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations,' Miranda said in a statement.
