Makati:New Zealand singer-songwriter Bic Runga, famed for her hit song 'Sway,' is set to headline the opening of the 2026 Experience New Zealand event in Makati on September 26, alongside the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
According to Philippines News Agency, Bic Runga, born in Christchurch, New Zealand, is a multi-award-winning songwriter and one of New Zealand's top-selling musical artists. Her debut album Drive, released in 1998, includes the popular track "Sway" and garnered numerous awards.
The event on September 26 will also feature a cultural showcase by the Maori performing arts group Nga Hau E Wha from Tokyo, in addition to the collaboration between Runga and the Philharmonic Orchestra.
Experience New Zealand is organized by the New Zealand Embassy in Manila and will take place from September 26 to 27 at The Concourse at One Ayala. It is free and open to the public, offering a variety of Kiwi food and beverages, as well as educational opportunities for students interested in studying in New Zealand.
Representatives from Education New Zealand and 12 tertiary institutions will be present, providing free consultations and allowing attendees to explore innovative study pathways in New Zealand.
The food and beverage segment will showcase premium New Zealand products such as dairy, wines, grass-fed meats, and authentic Manuka honey.
