Baguio: The Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club (BCBC) has announced that it will reward seven first-time visitors with a four-day, three-night stay in the city as part of its annual Lucky Summer Visitors (LSV) program.
According to Philippine News Agency, Dionisio Dennis Jr., the president of BCBC, mentioned that the winners would enjoy complimentary accommodation, guided tours, transportation, and gifts. He also noted that there are additional criteria for selection that the committee has agreed upon.
The program will feature an on-the-spot sketching activity with local artists. The search for the lucky visitors will occur in Pugo, La Union, where representatives from the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Philippine National Police, Department of Tourism, and BCBC will flag down buses from Metro Manila. Screening will be conducted inside the buses, and once selected, the visitors will disembark with their belongings.
The visitors’ experience will begin with a journey to Baguio City, where Tuba’s local officials will welcome them with a cultural briefing, tokens, and a native snack. The convoy will then head to Baguio City Hall for a reception with local officials before checking into Hotel Supreme, the traditional accommodation for LSV participants.
During their stay, winners will visit popular destinations such as Northern Blossom in Atok, Benguet; engage in strawberry picking at La Trinidad; and tour Polig Farm in Tublay. They will also explore Camp John Hay, Wright Park, and the Presidential Museum at The Mansion in Baguio.
Dennis emphasized that the participants are considered lucky due to the unique experiences provided, such as escorted travel and meetings with local officials. “This will never happen again to them. It is a once-in-a-lifetime activity,” he said.
