Cavite: Ayala Land, Inc. (AYI) has partnered with the Philippine Tennis Center for Excellence, Inc. (PTCEI) to develop a world-class International Tennis Center in Vermosa, Cavite, which will serve as the new home for the Philippine Tennis Academy (PTA).
According to Philippines News Agency, the PTA International Tennis Center will include eight tennis competition courts, a center court, and 16 pickleball courts. The facility will also offer training and wellness amenities, along with Athletes' Quarters capable of housing 60 to 80 trainees. Although the center will primarily cater to the PTA's training needs, it will also be accessible to the public, aiming to expand access to quality tennis and pickleball facilities, programs, and coaching.
The project is expected to create employment opportunities, offering roles from ball boy positions to coaching and administrative jobs, thereby boosting local economic activity in the area. The development will further enhance the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub, establishing it as a national venue for training and community engagement.
John Estacio, incoming ALI senior project development manager, highlighted the project's alignment with Vermosa's vision as an integrated estate for education, sports, and community, underscoring the long-term value it will provide for both residents and the broader community.
In a joint statement, PTA leadership emphasized the center's potential to create opportunities beyond elite sports training. The facility aims to be an inclusive platform where individuals from various backgrounds can engage with the sport, discover their potential, and contribute to a growing tennis community. The PTA, co-founded by philanthropists Oscar Hilado and Romeo Chan, has a history of supporting grassroots sports development, producing medalists and international competitors.
The PTA has already seen success with athletes like Tennielle Madis and Stefi Marithe Aludo, who secured a doubles bronze medal at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand. Madis, who is the reigning champion at the PCA Open and Gentry Open, recently won the Philta Women's Open.
