Central luzon: The Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 has officially announced the list of authorized community firecracker selling zones and fireworks display areas across Central Luzon. This initiative aims to minimize firecracker-related injuries during the upcoming holiday season.
According to Philippines News Agency, a total of 196 authorized community firecracker zones have been identified throughout the region. The breakdown is as follows: Aurora (13), Bataan (5), Bulacan (73), Nueva Ecija (28), Pampanga (24), Tarlac (14), and Zambales (39). In addition, 153 authorized fireworks display zones have been designated, distributed among Aurora (2), Bataan (3), Bulacan (69), Nueva Ecija (27), Pampanga (16), Tarlac (8), Zambales (26), and Angeles City (2).
Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office chief Col. Heryl Bruno has urged the community to adhere to safety regulations and encouraged reporting any violations. He highlighted that, apart from the designated firecracker zones, there are also 27 community firecracker zones and approved fireworks display zones within Nueva Ecija.
Central Luzon Police chief Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Pe±ones Jr. emphasized the prohibition on the use, sale, and distribution of illegal firecrackers. He assured the public that strict enforcement of laws and regulations will be upheld to prioritize public safety and ensure an injury-free celebration. Pe±ones stated, "These designated zones are meant to provide safe and regulated venues for holiday celebrations while significantly reducing the risk of firecracker-related injuries."
The police chief appealed to the public to avoid illegal firecrackers, advocating for safer and more responsible ways to celebrate the New Year. He added that the PRO-3 will maintain close coordination with local government units and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to safety regulations, aiming for a safe, peaceful, and orderly holiday celebration across Central Luzon.
