Army Units Mobilized Nationwide for ‘Brigada Eskwela’ Initiative

Manila: The Philippine Army (PA) announced on Monday that all its subordinate units have been mobilized to assist in this year's "Brigada Eskwela," scheduled to take place nationwide from June 1 to 5. The initiative aims to prepare schools for the upcoming academic year starting June 8.

According to Philippines News Agency, Army spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala stated that the Army's involvement in "Brigada Eskwela" demonstrates its commitment to community engagement beyond its primary security duties. PA troops will collaborate with education stakeholders to paint, repair, clean, and sanitize school facilities and classrooms across the country.

The Army will utilize its troops and equipment, sourced from the battalion level, to aid in the cleaning and repairs of public schools nationwide. For security reasons, the exact number of troops deployed for the mission was not disclosed. The PA typically maintains between 50 to 60 infantry battalions.

Col. Dema-ala expressed hope that the presence of PA troops in these community support activities will inspire young Filipinos to participate actively in nation-building efforts.
