Ada Strands 677 Passengers in E. Visayas Seaports

Tacloban city: Around 677 passengers were reported stranded in different seaports in Region 8 (Eastern Visayas) due to inclement weather caused by Tropical Depression Ada, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its situational update Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the disaster response agency reported that a total of 31 seaports were non-operational due to the weather disturbance. Additionally, the NDRRMC noted that 226 rolling cargoes and four vessels also got stranded.

As of this posting, the agency has yet to report the number of families or communities directly affected by the weather disturbance.
