Davao: The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Davao Region (DSWD-11) has successfully distributed over PHP161.4 million in financial assistance under the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) program as of August 27. This initiative aims to provide essential support to vulnerable families across the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, DSWD-11 reported that 80,738 households have benefited from the UPLIFT program, gaining access to livelihood, food, and transport support. The initiative offers qualified recipients a monthly cash assistance of PHP2,000, which is part of the government's ongoing social protection efforts. The program is designed to bolster household resilience and ensure timely delivery of aid.

DSWD-11 emphasized that the assistance demonstrates the agency's dedication to expanding community support and underscored the significance of sustained partnerships with local government units and organizations. This collaboration is crucial in extending the program's reach to more beneficiaries. The subsidy, which will continue through December, aims to help families cope with rising costs, secure food, and manage their daily needs effectively.

The department has set a target to reach a total of 116,769 individuals in the Davao Region through the UPLIFT program, reflecting its commitment to aiding as many vulnerable families as possible.
