70 Micro Business Owners in Canlaon City to Receive DTI Negosyo Kits

Canlaon city: The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Negros Oriental has identified 70 micro businesses in Canlaon City to receive business kits after being displaced by Typhoon Tino.

According to Philippines News Agency, Krystle Jade Bato, DTI - Negros Oriental spokesperson, said that the beneficiaries have already been profiled for qualification for the kits, each worth PHP15,000. The original number of businesses impacted by the typhoon last November exceeded 70, but due to budget constraints, the list was shortened to prioritize those heavily affected.

Bato mentioned that each beneficiary will receive a Negosyo Kit aligned with their original registered business type, such as a sari-sari store. The assistance is specifically targeted at micro businesses, defined as those with assets up to PHP3 million, excluding land.

The DTI - Negros Oriental is currently awaiting the release of funds from its regional office to facilitate the distribution of assistance to the beneficiaries in Canlaon City as soon as possible. On November 4, 2025, Typhoon Tino caused severe flooding in the area, resulting in more than 20 fatalities and displacing thousands.
