Antique: A total of 649 Child Development Workers (CDWs) from 17 municipalities received their PHP10,000 annual incentive from the Antique provincial government. Provincial Administrator Robin Rubinos, officer-in-charge of the Governor's office, said the incentives are symbols of appreciation to the services of the CDWs, who are mostly volunteers or job order employees. 'The amount may be small, but it is given heartedly to you because of your sincere services rendered to our province,' he said during the distribution on Monday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Board Member Fernando Corvera Sr. stated that the Committee on Finance and Appropriations will be working for the incentive to increase to PHP15,000 starting 2026. CDWs Peter Gem Barcelona, a job order employee for the last two years, and Donico Aguinido of San Jose de Buenavista expressed their gratitude for the incentives in an interview. 'This is already a big help to buy our needs,' Barcelona said. 'My love to teach children had motivated me to continue on as a CDW.' Aguinido feels fortunate that he was appointed as a permanent CDW since March 2021.
The Antique provincial government will release the incentives for the remaining 63 CDWs from the island municipality of Caluya at a later date.
