31 PDEA Informants Receive PHP7.4 Million Reward for Anti-Drug Contributions

Quezon city: A total of 31 informants on Monday received cash rewards amounting to more than PHP7.4 million from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). The informants were rewarded for providing information that resulted in successful anti-drug operations, confiscation of illegal drugs, and arrest of drug personalities.

According to Philippines News Agency, the informants received their cash rewards in a ceremony at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City, spearheaded by PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez and members of the Private Eye Rewards Committee. The granting of rewards and incentives is under PDEA's "Operation Private Eye," a citizen-based information collection program designed to encourage the active participation of private citizens to report illegal drug activities in their communities.

"These individuals exemplify the power of citizen action," Nerez said in a statement. "Their information led to 33 high-impact anti-drug operations that dismantled criminal networks, resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of illegal drugs, and apprehension of high-value drug personalities."

Among the recipients, the top informant received PHP1,834,640.81, whose information led to the seizure of 24.983 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, and the arrest of three drug personalities during a buy-bust operation along Maharlika Highway, Sitio Purok II, Barangay Masin Norte, Candelaria, Quezon on Oct. 10, 2025. All reward releases underwent a rigorous evaluation by the OPE Reward Committee, composed of PDEA key officials and representatives from the business, academic, and religious sectors, ensuring transparency, integrity, and accountability.
