Manila: A low pressure area (LPA) was detected 210 kilometers east of General Santos City, as stated in the 4 a.m. bulletin issued by the state weather bureau on Sunday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the LPA will lead to cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms across Caraga, the Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Albay, Masbate, and Sorsogon. There is a risk of flash floods or landslides due to the moderate to heavy rains anticipated in these areas.
According to Philippines News Agency, the LPA is situated along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), impacting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao. In addition, the shear line is expected to cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Islands, while the easterlies will influence similar weather conditions over Aurora and Quezon.
Metro Manila, along with other parts of the country, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy ski
es with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the effects of the easterlies. The northern and western sections of Northern Luzon are expected to experience moderate to strong winds, accompanied by moderate to rough coastal waters. Meanwhile, the rest of the archipelago will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
