Bicol: A total of PHP7.2 million worth of illegal drugs and 23 individuals were arrested during a weeklong anti-illegal drug operations campaign from May 11 to 17, the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) reported on Tuesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 spokesperson Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib stated that authorities conducted 21 anti-drug operations, which included three search warrant operations, 16 buy-bust operations, and one service of warrant operation. These operations targeted individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.
Calubaquib noted that authorities arrested 23 drug suspects, comprising seven identified as high-value individuals (HVIs) and 16 categorized as street-level individuals (SLIs).
During the operations, authorities confiscated 1,059.34 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price (SDP) of PHP7.2 million.
Calubaquib emphasized that all operations were intelligence-driven and conducted in close coordination with various law enforcement and partner agencies to ensure effective implementation and operational success.
PRO-5 also urged the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting suspicious activities through proper channels. Calubaquib highlighted that community cooperation remains a vital component in the fight against illegal drugs and criminality.
