Remains of CAFGU Abducted by NPA Taken Home After 6 Years
San miguel: It’s a bittersweet reunion for the family of Taloy Aguilo Astudillo, a Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member who was abducted by the communist New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in December 2019. For six long years, Astudillo’s family tirelessly looked for his whereabouts, searched for clues and bits of information about his well-being, but found nothing. According to Philippines News Agency, a former rebel (FR) broke years of mystery surrounding Astudillo’s abduction last week, leading a team from the Philippine Army’s 36th Infantry Battalion (36IB) to Suba Area, Sitio Inadan, Barangay Magroyong, San Miguel, Surigao del Sur.
