Bicol Surpasses Target for National ID Registration

Bicol: The Philippine Statistics Authority in Bicol (PSA-5) has successfully registered over 5.1 million individuals under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), surpassing the initial target of 5.09 million Bicolanos. According to Philippines News Agency, PSA-5 Director Cynthia Perdiz emphasized the robust support from the region for the government’s initiative aimed at fostering inclusive and efficient public services. The success was achieved through ongoing collaboration with partner agencies, notably the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). By integrating national ID registration with Family Development Sessions (FDS), the PSA managed to reach vulnerable communities, ensuring broader inclusion in the registration process.

Authorities Test, Seal ACMs in Cebu City

Cebu City: Members of the Election Board (EB) in Cebu City conducted Wednesday the final testing and sealing of automated counting machines (ACMs) in their respective polling centers, with representatives from the Commission on Elections (Comelec). At midnight on May 7, 2025, ACMs were loaded onto a wing van truck at Cebu City Hall for distribution to various polling precincts in the city’s 80 villages. Baguio City: The Police Regional Office (PRO), Department of Education (DepEd), and Commission on Elections (Comelec) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) announced they are prepared for the upcoming balloting process on May 12, with all necessary manpower, logistics, and plans established.
